Welcome to the Kalverstraat store
In the middle of the always busy shopping street in Amsterdam you can find our biggest store. Only steps away from the Rokin subway station and surrounded by many shops, eateries and other fun things to do. Make sure to look for our beautiful flag and our wonderful staff. You won’t leave empty handed, that’s a promise!
We look forward to your visit
When you're visiting Amsterdam a shopping trip to the Kalverstraat should always be part of the plan. But did you know behind all of those shops there's a lot of Dutch history?
Our Kalverstraat store is also adjacent to the Begijnensteeg which leads to the Begijnenhof. The Begijnhof is the only inner court in Amsterdam which was founded during the Middle Ages, and therefore lies within the Singel — the innermost canal of Amsterdam's circular canal system. Originally the Begijnhof was entirely encircled by water (the Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal, the Spui and the Begijnensloot or "Beguines' Ditch"), with the sole entrance located at the Begijnensteeg ("Beguines' Alley"), which had a bridge across the Begijnensloot. Lots of historical details to see when you are shopping!
"Went today in the Kalverstraat shop, where a talented italian girl gently told me all that i would know about dutch cheese. But nothing is better than try some slice, and here you can do it. This is definitely THE place for dutch cheese. Just try it!"
